Bank of America’s Neighborhood Builders® program supports established nonprofit organizations working to create stronger, more economically stable communities.

Selected organizations participate in a two-year leadership development program and receive grant funding to help build capacity, strengthen leadership, and expand their nonprofit’s impact. Awards range from $100,000 to $400,000, paid over two years.

Who Should Apply

This opportunity is for established nonprofit organizations that:

Have official 501(c)(3) status from the IRS
Serve communities in eligible Bank of America markets
Have filed taxes with the IRS for each of the last two fiscal years
Are financially sound
Have at least a three-year plan to advance their mission
Can participate in a two-year leadership training program
Have both an Executive Director, President, or CEO, and an Emerging Leader who has been in their roles for at least two years

Funding Focus Areas

For 2026, applicants must align with one of these areas:

Stable Housing
Affordable housing, long-term rental housing, homeownership opportunities, and housing preservation.

Income Creation
Workforce development, entrepreneurship, and financial resilience.

Award Amount

Neighborhood Builders® awards range from $100,000 to $400,000, paid over two years. The total grant amount cannot exceed 10% of the organization’s most recent annual revenue.
