CitizensNYC Neighborhood Business Grant

The CitizensNYC Neighborhood Business Grant provides microgrants of up to $5,000 to New York City small businesses that are rooted in their neighborhoods and creating a positive community impact.

This grant supports community-minded businesses such as barbershops, bookstores, wellness studios, cafés, childcare providers, and other local businesses that are helping improve quality of life in their neighborhoods.

Best for: NYC-based small businesses that are profit-generating, community-focused, and looking for funding to support a project or initiative that gives back to their neighborhood.

Eligibility highlights: Businesses must be located in one of New York City’s five boroughs, have been operating for at least two years, have 10 or fewer employees, be profit-generating, and be able to provide proof of business, such as bank statements, tax documents, or POS statements.

Grant amount: Up to $5,000

Deadline: July 27, 2026

Grant decisions announced: September 2026
